Hello Tommy.

I served with 16 [Para] OFP and SS RAC Para Sqn in 1960/61 and have not come across anyone here who was there in my time.

I am in regular contact with John Edwards ex 16 Para Hy Drop.

I was in Cyprus 1964 when you were there. We lived in the same area of Famagusta and your 2 girls spent a lot of time at our house.

Hope you and the family are well.

Regards

PaddyQ

Are you the Tom Currie who was my favourite Sgt in 16 Para Heavy Drop?

The one who forced me to leave the guardroom when I insisted on being a prisoner along with Lofty Pickering and Jock Hudson? you persuaded me to go home to my family and during the night, Lofty punched a hole through the ceiling and escaped.

If you are that Tommy Currie, then I am delighted to Know that you are alive .

I am in contact with Bob Reid and Terry Tavener, who were in the unit with us, also David Rowe.

Regards Tony

Hi Guys; any of you remember Rick Ginn (RAOC) fm 16 Para Hy Drop Coy? He was there as Pl Comd and Tech Adjt 71-73. He then went on to become a Pi in 74. He served at 3 BAPD 74-76. He was a classmate of mine at the CF Staff College in 80. Lost touch with him and Pat.

Hi Alan

I think i served with Rick when he was a Coy Comd (Maj) at RAOC Apprentice College in the early eighties.  If i am right then Peter will know him as well.

Regards

Charlie

Did you realise that a woman's "I'll be ready in five minutes" and a man's "I'll be home in five minutes" are exactly the same?

Tks for that Charlie. We'll wait to hear fm Peter. Interesting anecdote; the UK DS at the College at the time was a para, who was CO 1 Para on/at 'Bloody Sunday' some of you will/may know his name. He said that 'It's a disgrace that UK send a RAOC offr to the Canadian Staff College rather than a combat arms offr'. You can imagine that that remark not only did not endure him to Rick but p'o'd alot of the other 'combat support' offrs  on the course. One up for Ordnance!

   Hello Tony,

I trust that you are well, I certainly remember that little episode in Watchfield to which you refer.I wonder what happened to lofty, as for Stuart Hudson, I was his best man when he married Valerie in Cyprus in 1969.Stuart retired as a Major from the Corps, and has recently carried out a climb in the regions of Mount Everest to aid Forces Charities.

                                                                   Regards.

                                                                        Tom
